The first keynote at #bearpgrconf25 was Xilin Xia, who delivered an insightful talk on developing computational models for natural hazards & climate risk assessment. He showcased how HPC & AI can transform forecasting, planning & global resilience strategies. ^YZ

Ben Jenkins, the first PGR speaker, presented 4 years of work on DEM calibration at #bearpgrconf25. He shared how large-scale simulation & ML optimisation, powered by BlueBEAR, can turn weeks of trial-and-error into seconds of insight for powder handling systems. ^YZ

Dr Chandan Bose presented at #bearpgrconf25 on simulating the aerodynamics of butterfly swarms using GPU-accelerated fluid–structure interaction solvers. His group is developing an open-source multi-GPU framework for bio-inspired flight research. ^YZ

Loïc Lannelongue opened the afternoon keynote at #bearpgrconf25 with a thought-provoking talk on sustainable computing. He introduced the Green Algorithms project and GREENER principles, challenging us to rethink the environmental impact of our research computing. ^YZ

Yibo Zhang was the first PGR speaker of the afternoon at #bearpgrconf25, sharing research on how female household authority influences resilience to natural disasters. Using data from typhoon events, he showed that women’s control of finances can boost recovery outcomes. ^YZ
