Lunch from Asador 44 today underlining two things: hake, the national fish of Spain, is underrated in this country; and rice is the finest carb delivery method. Fish of the day from the £25 set menu, and as lovely a fish dish as I've had here for a good while.

HUGE congratulations to Tropea on scooping the winner of Central and East of England region in The Good Food Guide 100 Best Local Restaurants. What a place. Fully deserved.
