When you’re doing PhD research, the challenges you encounter are often complex, ambiguous, and can feel unwieldy. That is part of the learning. A PhD is in part a degree in managing complexity and ambiguity. Your PhD experience should be equipping you to wield the unwieldy.

When taking a risk or aiming for a big goal, it isn’t that there is no fear. It’s just that the fear of failing becomes less than the fear of not trying and having everything stay the same.
