Book 2, Chapter 17 - Drafted. With book #1 - I found myself outlining and planning the snot out of it. I'd written 70,000 words of outline and complex, spreadsheeted worldbuilding and characterization before I'd attempted one creative syllable. It made it very easy to see where

Book 2 - Chapter 18 Drafted. Another 3800 words in the can and ahead of schedule. I had hoped to get book 2 first draft done by labour weekend. I think I am still on track. It remains incredibly rough and tumble, but there is a lot of good stuff for the edit. Happy with where

Book 2 - Chapter 19 Drafted. End of Act 2 and a big one for new characters and fun new conflicts to explore. It's all coming together - phew.

Book 2 - Chapter 21 Drafted. And what we really needed here was a montage. Good advice this: Always fade out in a montage. If you fade out, it seems like more time has passed. In a montage. :-)

Book 2 - Chapter 22 Drafted. Another progress update. 82k into a 145k book and with this chapter it seems somebody's discovered they have a crush.

Book 2 - Chapter 24 drafted. This was a tough one. Spent a lot of time on it considering it is just a draft. To do with worldbuilding and magic systems and explaining the how and the why of things. Difficult to get that balance right, difficult not to get carried away and lose

Book 2 - Chapter 25 Drafted. This one was a battle. Not sure why. A lot to get across and all sorts of tricks needing deployment in an effort to reduce the feeling that it is a lot. Be interesting to reread this one on the edits
