Today's video is a bit more niche. It's about the end of Dennard Scaling, which brought about a great deal of change in how compute is done today No comment on the Intel CEO news other than 🍿 youtu.be/7p8ZeSbblec

Came across this news story about a semiconductor fab in Malaysia suffering a headless ghost attack, which necessitated the summoning of a witch doctor, the sacrifice of a goat, and then a feast. (Alberni Valley Times, June 1976)

TSMC’s fab 20 in Hsinchu is a bit of a mystery to me. It was originally supposed to be THE N2 fab but that has shifted to Kaohsiung. It’s big too, 4 phases. Phase 1 is done and it’s just been sorta sitting there. Wonder why. (Picture is of phase 2 under construction)
