New Letter: "Sporophyte-directed gametogenesis in Arabidopsis" rdcu.be/ed0V0 In flowering plants the gametophyte develops within the sporophyte. Male gametophyte development in Arabidopsis is directed by the sporophyte through repression of gametogenesis genes.
