Damp p.m. at Catcott this afternoon , enlivened by a Buzzard V. Peregrine conflict! Peregrine made a kill but was driven off by Crows and the Buzzard before it had it's fill, came back to make it's claim, ended after 5 mins, Peregrine retiring tired. Too far away for my RX4 !

An American at Catcott this Sunday afternoon but unfortunately not an American Bittern! First decent picture I've managed of it since it turned up here way back on 17 Nov. last YEAR!

Late afternoon action at Catcott, M. Harrier puts up ducks,Peregrine arrives knocks a Teal? down. Dispute between Harrier and Peregrine, meanwhile a Buzzard arrives from nowhere and carries off the Teal. Rubbish photos but an interesting outcome.

Unhappy end to a rare visitor to Catcott this afternoon snAvocet probably making for Steart was intercepted by 2 Peregines and a Marsh Harrier put up brave attempt to escape but knocked down by a Peregrine but dropped on by the Harrier. Pic. is of its last few seconds

Eating lunch at Ham Wall today, I met and spoke to Keith Vinicombe, I haven't seen him for a couple of years but I've known him since the early 1970's. His knowledge of birds is fantastic and today he's still as keen and observant as ever.
