Most days I leave work looking like I’ve been in a paintball war and lost. Covered in Kid germs paint, pastel, paint on my face on my hair etc. 20 years teaching and I’m just realizing how nice the soft life is from time to time. I left work clean and it was nice!😊

I looove watching National Geographic and learning about the animals of the Amazon rainforest. My kids are working on their last art project of the year using paper mosaic art tissue, paint and clay. Chameleons tree frogs and parrots are coming out fantastic!

Teacher appreciation week was a blast!!! So thankful for my parents and kids at Bolton Academy! What a fantastic mix of people! I’m so grateful for those who have been supportive of all my artistic endeavors both in and out of the classroom!

We’re flying into summer!! I’m so proud of my art kiddos and their take on the beautiful parrots of the Amazon rainforests. Way to go and managing some super tricky circular and acute triangle cuts and layering each piece to achieve a layered feather look!

Did you know that the brightest colored tree frogs in the Amazon are often the most poisonous?? I’ve really enjoyed watching our students make great design choices on their tree frogs! It’s a beautiful sight to see them beaming with pride once they’ve finished. #boltonart

Everything you went through was preparing you…for you!! Apartment buildings, train stations, hospitals, courthouses and when I’m through just know God still isn’t done!!! Don’t give up on your artsy rebellious kids we come through solid in the end! ;) Thankful for every call!!!

A kids playroom dream!!! My client is the ultimate mom and had a vision to create a mega kids play room. This mural has been lots of fun!!

Field day was sooo much fun!! The art station was so much fun next year we will make art with paint filled water balloons! 😊 super fun in the sun!

We’re hopping into summer with multi media poisonous tree frogs. Learning all about staying with a color family and creating monochrome color schemes with mosaic pieces.

I still remember watching Steve Prince one of Americas best printmakers work on commissions in my classroom. I learned a lot from him by observing how he attacked composition and how he mastered spatial measurements. Teachers breed great teachers. Grateful.

Inspired by Wassily Kandinskys concentric circles and the beautiful overlapping of tree branches and tree roots. This tree represents how strong our organization is because of the community and corporate sponsors. Falling back in love with art in nature. In progress.

The older I get the more I realize the habits we make as children carry throughout our adulthood. I still find solace in laying on the floor …old school pencil drawing my murals before I paint them.. yes I can use Procreate and Canva too but floor drawing Sparks Joy! 😊

As an art teacher at FDHS I worked amongst the most seasoned/talented staff. I was gathering mental notes from each of them. So when I got the call to paint a mascot in the conference room at the DekalbArtsAcademy I was stoked! They will be led by a very gifted Astro alumni.

I met The Famous Sam G in 2013 we were painting on a movie set. We said that day we’d always be cousins! He’s what many call a folk artist, self taught. But I’ve learned so much from him and his work. Can’t wait to share it with my kids. Can’t wait to have a Sam G unit this year.

Can’t wait to see all the corporations businesses and community partners logos on the support tree. This tree was so fun to create. A little Wassily Kandinsky a little Van Gogh and whole lot of love and support for the students of Atlanta Public Schools.
