We’re all arguing about Miami, Alabama, Notre Dame and overlooking that TWO groups of 5 schools are occupying spots when they have zero business playing in it this year. Tulane lost 45-10 to Ole Miss. JMU only played ONE P4 school and lost by 14. What a mess

I think Group of 5 teams should get in the playoffs when they go unbeaten or have a resume similar to Boise State last year. TWO of them getting a bid this year while Miami, Vanderbilt and Texas sit at home is a travesty.

Having Tulane and JMU is the playoff is pointless and bad for the sport. Now 50% of the first round games are completely uninteresting

I really hope this is the last year of this idea that G5 teams deserve automatic positions in the College Football Playoff. We’re just wasting our time with these two 1st round games.

When do we stop pretending?

The real travesty in all this is we have to watch Tulane + JMU get their doors blown off when we could have seen two awesome games with teams like Notre Dame/Vandy/BYU in the playoff. Special G5 teams like 2021 Cincinnati or 2024 Boise should have a shot. Not these charity cases.

The G5 stealing two spots (and giving Ole Miss and Oregon essentially a bye) is an absolute travesty. The auto bid has to change. Notre Dame and Vandy would've been 138518376586X better.
