Zohran’s campaign was a masterclass on how to galvanize progressives in 2025. “Mamdani’s politics feel fresh and urgent. He isn’t interested in managing broken systems; he’s instead keen on trying to remake them.” — Chris E. in the Star thestar.com/opinion/contri…

I'm proud to be part of this necessary and long overdue effort to support our peers in Gaza and improve coverage of Palestine in Canada, including through improving working conditions for Canadian journalists trying to speak out about the issue in their newsrooms.

Generational change is coming: Since Zohran Mamdani won on Tuesday night, more than 1100 young people have reached out to Run for Something to explore a run for local office -- one of our biggest spikes of the year yet.

This headline puts us in the “white guys are best, after all” phase of journalism. I can’t be bothered to read a piece with that head, but I truly hope it isn’t accurately reflecting the opinion in the column

The amount of people acting like this is a great act of rebellion is concerning. You understand if you don’t speed, you don’t get a ticket, right?

Hard to be shocked these days, but this new report in Haaretz הארץ should stop everyone in their tracks. Israeli soldiers openly admit that they were ordered to fire at unarmed crowds of Palestinians waiting for aid. One soldier compared it to "Red Light, Green Light."

Wow, Paul Krugman: "I was enormously cheered by Mamdani, not because I think he’ll be a great mayor — honestly I have no idea — but because Cuomo would have been depressing. It would have been an affirmation of elite impunity and lack of accountability." open.substack.com/pub/paulkrugma…

In typical Doug Ford gov't fashion, there's big changes being proposed on the Friday before a long weekend. Once again, these changes implicate conservation authorities. And once again, there are few details in the release about what these changes are. news.ontario.ca/en/release/100…

Yesterday, Haaretz.com published a damning investigation where IDF soldiers admitted to shooting at unarmed Palestinians gathered near distribution centres. Today, Canada's top papers The Globe and Mail & Toronto Star used an AP wire to report this. We dissect why this is a problem 🧵

We believe it's imperative that journalists speak out against inherent bias, and blatant disregard for journalism standards and practices in their newsrooms. We know this is happening in media outlets across Canada & encourage reporters to reach out to us. We will stand with you.
