Feels like a major cultural moment that Israel is quite clearly the bad guy villain country in a big budget Hollywood movie (Superman) Going in I thought it would be subtle but it was not subtle. My mind is kind of blown.

so many moments in Superman where I couldn't wipe the smile off my face bc of how perfect he felt. it wasn't even just when he was flying or fighting. literally just when he's standing around in the suit with his arms crossed. it was just like...that's him. that's Superman.

seeing complaints that Superman didn't show up in Jarhanpur, but it actually really worked for me. the fact that the mere Superman symbol on a child's flag galvanizes other heroes to help feels more relevant for our world—where Superman may not exist, but what he represents does.

I love these guys, but nearly every single thing Mike and Rich and Jay say in their RedLetterMedia review of Superman is astonishingly stupid lmao

theres a scene in the superman movie where a single civilian dies and the entire theater gasped. for a single person. i dont think a marvel or dc movie has had emotion like that for one human death in so long, we are so used to people and cities being cannonfodder

super funny thing to me about Sean Astin is that he's a professing Christian who has starred in some godawful faith-based movies but somehow he hasn't become Kevin Sorbo and he's still very woke and based. ya know, like an actual Christian

that Punkrocker song over the credits and the emotion it packs is just unreal. Gunn's talent for choosing needledrops that feel fresh and quirky and soulful rather than phoned in...he's truly unmatched

Houston Coley (@artwithinpod) 's Twitter Profile Photo

some of the CG-heavy sequences in Superman are abjectly hideous, but I still love the way Gunn moves the camera and blocks his actors. barely any moments where people are just sitting and talking in shot/reverse shot. some of the most engaging and kinetic scenes are conversations

interesting that Lex Luthor's pocket universe is clearly modeled on Hades—it's an eternal prison with a ghoulish Charon-like ferryman and an antiproton River Styx. come to think of it, Superman descends into the river before returning to fight. much to ponder

my biggest personal turn-off with Glass Onion was that it was a summer movie. Knives Out is an autumn movie and Wake Up Dead Man looks like a winter movie. this is everything I've ever hoped for
