Shocked to learn of this incident against a Jewish man with young children in Montreal’s Villeray—Saint-Michel—Parc-Extension borough on Friday afternoon. cbc.ca/news/canada/mo…

Actions like unilateral illusionary Palestinian recognition, weapon sanctions & critical letters of Israel are harming the prospects of securing a hostage deal. Not only do they inadvertently reward terror and harden Hamas’ position - they are prolonging the war. As an

Jewish man in Montreal violently attacked. Intimidation, harassment, & violence against Jews have been steadily escalating and where condemnation from those in power has been hesitant at best. My Latest for ⁦⁦National Post⁩. nationalpost.com/opinion/leslie…

The attack on a Jewish father in Montreal late yesterday, in front of his own children, is an appalling act of violence. Everyone in Canada has an inalienable right to live in safety. My thoughts are with the victim and his family as they recover, and my support is with law

The attack on a Jewish father in front of his children is horrible and unacceptable. Such acts are an attack on all of us. My thoughts are with the victim and his family. The SPVM should bring the perpetrator to justice swiftly.

The “everyone deserves safety” comment from the PM truly misses the point. There is a specificity to antisemitic violence. We have seen two years of intense incitement. The failure to call it out is a failure of leadership that leaves Jews in Canada vulnerable.

In all seriousness we don't need more politicians issuing pro-forma denunciations of attacks on Jews. If they really care, stop enabling pro-Hamas protests to take over our streets, invade Jewish neighbourhoods & shut down traffic so they can "pray" as a power move. Do something.

It’s comforting to know that if I was violently assaulted in front of my terrified children, that senior government officials would post “This ⬇️.” It just exudes compassion and concern.

Prime Minister: Perhaps the incidents in Victoria, Saint John and Montreal over the past week were predictable because of the failure of all levels of government to respond to increasingly aggressive expressions and acts of hate over the past 22 months. Enough is enough.

The Western and academic left has fundamentally failed to understand the Middle East—not just politically, but cosmologically. It approaches the region through a narrow, narcissistic lens of anti-colonialism, in which only those voices that oppose “the West” in the correct idiom

Seeing Cabinet ministers and MPs wait for the PM to comment on the antisemitic attack in Montreal and then follow with roughly the same script - devoid of the word antisemitism - isn't leadership and isn't good enough. Explicitly calling out antisemitism should not be hard.

I condemn the latest attacks against Jews and Jewish communities in Canada in the strongest possible terms! I call on all leaders of Canada’s communities, of municipalities, of provincial and federal governments: Stand up against hate!

Wowzer. So we agree it reduces risk and protects people, but you still think it’s not worth it? From where I’m sitting in a province still rebuilding from the 2023 fires and Hurricane Fiona, the loudest critics seem to be the ones furthest from the smoke.

My letter in today’s Irish Times in response to Sonia Harris Pope’s ahistorical, ill considered article, accusing Jews who do not speak out sufficiently against Israel of complicity.
