Black-winged Kite!! A nice gripback for yours truly. Always distant but so lucky to catch this before it did one!. Shocking video attached 🙄

While our pelagic from Penzance wasn't great (millpond; warm seas etc) we still enjoyed it, especially leaping tuna next to the boat. Highlight of today though was another lifer; Aquatic Warbler. 2.5 hrs to get a decent view but what a bird. 2 days, 2 lifers. Happy Days! 😊

Well it wasn't going to be '3 days - 3 lifers' for me as the Marsh Sand decided to go before we got to Seaton yesterday. Plenty to see there though while we waited in vain for it to come back. A lovely reserve.

Views were much better than the photos I got of the Black-winged Pratincole at Kirton-in-Lindsey, Lincs just now. Nice year tick though and better views than the Notts one I had last year.

Some terrible (especially after X has compressed the sh*t out of it...) digiscoped video that I'd forgotten I'd taken of the Black-winged Pratincole from yesterday in Lincs. Enjoy 😂

Long trip up to Musselburgh with Mike Barth Photography 🦉📷 for a long-awaited UK ✔️ in the form of this juv Marsh Sandpiper. Good to get this back after a painful dip in Devon 2 weeks ago. Decent supporting cast of Pec,Wood,Curlew Sands and Spotshank. And a win for Spurs over Wet Spam. 😊

Saw the very showy Lesser Grey Shrike at Winterton Dunes this morning. What a cracker ! Bonus juv Cuckoo as well, feeding up on Fox Moth caterpillars for the long flight south 😊with Mike Barth Photography 🦉📷

Well, we made it, eventually, and after the excruciating delay (and fairly sleepless overnight ferry trip) thankfully, the star bird had decided to not 'do one'. 1st winter male Siberian Thrush. Also had RB Fly and Western Subalpine warbler. What will tomorrow bring...? 😊

A decent 2nd day on Shetland. Rustic Bunt, Barred, Common Rosefinch, Ortolan Bunt. Late report of our first expected/hoped for yank, a Blackpoll Warbler on Unst has us booked on the first ferry at 06:40 🤞🏻 Trying not to think too much about the mind-blowing WT Needletail in Yorks

An early start saw us head north on a two-ferry trip over to Unst. In less than ideal conditions we waited in vain for a good hour before wondering off, only to get the message that the Blackpoll Warbler was refound. Rushed back to get these fairly ropey distant/cropped photos.

Grim day here. 45mph winds and horizontal rain most of the day. Not many birds about, though Kris managed to find a Marsh Warbler. The day was saved though by seeing Orca! Second time for me and Rob but a first for Austin and Kris.

Hard going today on Shetland. Bashed many irisbeds and burns to no avail. Thought the reduced winds might have improved things but nope. Did get this Little Bunting though

Thought I'd join the bunting-fest at Leasowe while the sun (remember that..?) was out. The local para-gliders were causing the usual mayhem along the front though....ffs 🤬
