Great morning ringing black headed gull chicks Slimbridge Sightings with Scott Petrek @Jam3s_Jackson Martin McGill
This year I've been lucky to follow a rural fox family close to home. They were very wary of people proving a challenge to photograph. Here's the only shot I managed to get this season @wildlife_uk BBC Springwatch Mammal Society iNatureUK
A wild boar in the Forest of Dean. Boar became extinct in England 300 years ago. The modern Forest of Dean population established itself after an escape from a wild boar farm in the 1990s and an illegal release in 2004 #EarthCapture by Arron Roberts
Back from a few days in #Cornwall with Arron Roberts for my first proper Porthgwarra seawatch. May have missed the Cory’s but caught up with Sooty, Balearic and hundreds of Manx plus a few Stormies for good measure
Pit stop at Hayle Estuary #Cornwall on the way home and Arron Roberts found colour ringed Mediterranean Gull green R1NU. A quick email and very quick reply reveals this is the first sighting of the bird since it was ringed as a chick in western France in June 2018 #gullhistories

Out in the Forest last night for a socially-distanced catch up with Arron Roberts. Great views of a female Nightjar hunting but no churring males yet, plus several rodding Woodcock, lots of hungry bats and plenty of pigs
Great to see the new ponds Slimbridge Sightings attracting ovipositing Emperor, Black-tailed Skimmer, Broad-bodied Chaser, Four-spotted Chaser and a few species of damselfly during my lunch break
Lovely to lead the Somerset Levels Beginner's Birdwatching tour this week for Naturetrek. A fabulous group who enjoyed the highlights of Swell Wood, Greylake, Ham Wall and Shapwick Heath. Thanks also to co-leader Arron Roberts.

Finally found some wild boar piglets in open woodland. When young they usually stay close to dense cover for safety #ForestofDean BBC Springwatch @wildlife_uk Mammal Society British Wildlife Photography Awards
A special encounter with this little one yesterday morning. A bit wet and muddy out there but these wild boar piglets love it! BBC Springwatch Mammal Society #forestofdean
