A native of West Memphis, Michael Cage guided his high school team to back-to-back 30-0 seasons. He was the 14th pick in the 1984 NBA draft (San Diego Clippers) and twice led the NBA in rebounding (1986-87 and 1987-88). 2008 ASHOF Inductee. @sdsumbb Michael Cage

Billy Ray Smith, Sr. was a pro football star for 14 years 1957-71, and he was an Augusta High School standout 1950-52 and made the All-American Prep Team in 1952. 1976 ASHOF Inductee. @razorbackfb @_pittsburghsteelers @billyraysmithjr

In spite of being born with Poland Syndrome, Bryce became a star golfer at Conway High and Georgia Tech. He retired in 2017 following a 17-year career in professional golf, including 11 full seasons on the PGA Tour. 2016 ASHOF Inductee. @pgatour Grant Studdard

Preston played 12 seasons in the NFL and was a Pro Bowl selection as a Pittsburgh Steeler tight end in 1962. As a Razorback, Carpenter was an outstanding single-wing blocking back and linebacker for the Razorbacks 1953-1955. 1992 ASHOF Inductee. Arkansas Razorback Football Cleveland Browns

Sam was a football NAIA All-American at Henderson State (HSU).and was named All-AIC on both offense and defense. He became one of Arkansas’ most successful high school coaches at LR Parkview. He won state championships in 1974 and 1976. 2007 ASHOF Inductee.

From the new ASHOF Class of 2024, Jeff has been a star in the sport of wheelchair basketball with a 2X world and 4X national championship. 2008 U.S. Paralympic team 1st Place – North American Cup, 2006 Silver medal. First U.S. amputee to summit Mt. Everest, and more!

Joyner was a three-time All-American in track for ASU. During his senior year, he ranked #10 among the world’s triple jumpers. In the 1984 Olympics, he won the gold with a jump of 56 feet, 7 ½ inches and had four of the five longest jumps in the Olympic finals. ASHOF in 2002.

At the time of his ASHOF induction in 2009, there were but 6 other officials who had been inducted into the ASHOF, one of which was his father Buddy. During his final season in 2018, Walt was the NFL’s longest current tenured referee.

Dean, a member of baseball’s Hall of Fame, won 30 games for the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals in 1934 and was the league’s MVP. Dean led the National league in shutouts (1932, 1934) and in strikeouts (1932-1935). Dean was born in Lucas, near Booneville. ASHOF in 1983.

Lewis played running back, wide receiver, and tight end at U of A in the 1950's. He played pro for Detroit and Cleveland. He coached pro football at Minnesota, Atlanta, Washington, Houston, Green Bay, and Detroit. ASHOF inductee 1988.

In his seventeen seasons at Arkansas, Nolan led the Hogs to three Final Fours, and one National Championship in 1994 against Duke. Named national coach of the year in 1994. The UA named the Bud Walton Arena basketball court after him. 1998 ASHOF Inductee. Arkansas Razorbacks Men’s Basketball 🐗

At Forrest City, Eldon Hawley was an outstanding athlete in football, basketball, track, and baseball. At UCA, Hawley earned seven letters - four in football and three in track. UCA Hall of Fame Inductee. 2015 ASHOF Inductee. Central Arkansas Athletics

Mel is one of the most versatile athletes in Razorback history (letters in basketball/football/baseball). He played professionaly with the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Knicks, head basketball coach at Arkansas A&M for two seasons. ASHOF 1970. Jeff King still holds the third-highest batting average over an Arkansas career. After his junior year, King entered the MLB Draft and was taken by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played 11 years at the pro level from 1989-1999. 2023 ASHOF Inductee. Arkansas Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates

Jerry lettered at the U of A from 1975 to 1978. He was drafted in the 3rd round by Tampa Bay and become their second leading rusher. ASHOF Inductee in 2018. Arkansas Razorback Football Tampa Bay Buccaneers
