My young lab College of Chemistry coined the term in a late night whiteboard jam session almost 25 years ago, amazing to see how far this field has come!
Congratulations to Dr. Daniel Mokhtari for defending his thesis! Daniel did phenomenal work joint between our lab and the Herschlag developing & applying new tools for high-throughput enzymology - and now he is returning to the med school part of his MD/PhD! Sarafan ChEM-H
A huge (and belated) thank you to Misha Raffiee for the lovely cake to celebrate my defense. And a hearty congratulations to Dogtor Milo (not my dog) for defending his thesis 'Novel methods for high-throughput squeaky toy fetching'!
Excited to announce our newest paper published today! How do we get to accurately predicting *function* from sequence? It will require lots and lots of quantitative thermodynamic and kinetic data for lots of sequences. (1/6)! science.sciencemag.org/content/373/65… Sarafan ChEM-H @StanfordBioE
Huge congrats to Mason & team from Polly Fordyce on this technique to make user-defined and parsed libraries! This will be incredibly useful for the larger community. Personally, I can't wait to--pardon the pun--PIC-M (pick 'em) next time I make a library!
A major congratulations to Dr. Anna Elleman for defending her PhD yesterday! A tour de force of synthesis to develop chemical approaches for selectively controlling Na channels. Check out her paper: nature.com/articles/s4146…
This tribute to SloanSiegristPalmore as a scientist, mentor and angel among us mortals is a straightforward extrapolation from everything I learned while she was a postdoc with me. Sloan leaves everyone and everything better than she found them. #proudofalumni
