Visiting the Kashihara Institute, Nara Prefecture and being shown its wonderful collections by YOSHIMURA-sensei. Including this extraordinary six pronged sword.

Lovely morning at Hasedera Temple!

Wonderful visit to Horyuji dating from the early 7th century.

We traveled to Daegu, S Korea yesterday and visited BuinsaTemple on the slopes of Mt Palgongsan which is also a National Park, very beautiful!

Visited the Goryeong Jian-dong tumuli World Heritage Site of the Gaya period, 5th-6th century CE. Mind blowing mounded tombs. Probably over 1,000 in this one location. Gaya were iron makers exporting to Japan in this period.

Korean Folk Village we stopped and had a look at. Very pretty setting up in the mountains.

After a fantastic day at the National Museum of Korea we were treated to a fabulous talk by Susan Whitfield and Simon Kaner on the Nara To Norwich project and the Silk Roads.

A great last day in Korea visiting the Gyeongju National Museum and Bulguksa Temple.
