Today I toured the Forbidden City in Beijing. As China’s capital city, Beijing has a rich history, and a particular importance in the Chinese economy and economic future.

Last night, I arrived in China — my second trip to China as Treasury Department Secretary. I’m looking forward to substantive engagements with senior government officials, business leaders, and the Chinese people.

Health care spending is a key part of our economy and a major item in every family’s budget. I traveled to a hospital that received resources from the American Rescue Plan and spoke to health care providers about the Biden Administration’s work to lower health care costs.
