Could use help from historians! Can anyone point me to good surveys on the causes of the 1st Great Migration? I've seen some data from Chicago and Detroit, but I'm interested in a deeper dive. Can anyone out there recommend anything (either national or local case studies)? Thx.

Yesterday, officers raided the Gaza solidarity camp at UC Irvine and arrested a significant number of demonstrators. While I disagree with some of the slogans/tactics of the protesters, they were peaceful. All people of conscience should condemn this act of repression.

Just sent in proposals for two book manuscripts! Book 1 is Canaan’s Crucible: Life and Death along the Color Line in the Era of the Great Migration. Book 2 is Survive or Perish: Race, Inequality, and the Battle for Black Lives from World War II to the Present. Fingers crossed!!!
