Ardrossan Castle was the target of unauthorised digging/metal detecting on two separate occasions between Tue 20 & Fri 23 July. As a 'Scheduled Monument' this type of unauthorised activity at the site is a crime that carries a fine of up to £50,000 and six-months imprisonment.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the @AyrshireNPolice on 101 citing crime number UA06150721.
