This is likely to be the story for any other ethnic Armenian towns captured by Azerbaijan in Karabakh going forward. Armenian captives were slaughtered in Hadrut already three days ago. Further ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijani forces seems all but certain.

Azerbaijani soldiers, preparing to live in peace with the ethnic Armenian village of Mataghis in NE Karabakh they captured, tear down and stomp on the Armenian-language sign at the village's entrance. All of the villagers had previously fled.

Mataghis is not within the occupied regions surrounding Karabakh, but a part of Karabakh proper. It always had an overwhelmingly Armenian population. Despite this, Aliyev announced that the village would be renamed to the Azerbaijani name of Suqovushan. Draw your own conclusions.
