Added more variability using all the training bats off the iPitch. Players had to adapt and solve problems on the fly while still meeting their EV thresholds to earn points. The weighted bats create challenges, but the goal always stays the same - quality contact.

Bat Speed Day Competition 🚀 EV and LA constraint: Need to be 98mph between 26°-30° to be considered a barrel. With different LA windows for harder EVs on the left. Goal is to hit the ball hard in a LA window that does damage. Barrels play❗️ Eric Rataczak took the W today

Not sure what to work on? Flip the script. If you were a pitcher, how would you attack you? Go thru different scenarios. This will usually reveals holes in your approach, swing path, or physical qualities. Do you struggle with velo, spin, angles, or location?

One of the more chaotic aspects of player development comes in potential "side effects" of making a change. This is easily understood through something like bulking ("congrats on gaining muscle but now you're fat"), but is prevalent in mechanical adjustments as well.

30mph soft toss is electric toss lol. The point stands though. You need to train in difficult settings. You need to build your tools and stress test that all at the same time. You can’t hope and pray what you did all offseason worked. You have to battle test it. Kyle Boddy

Teammates, roommates, and co-directors all Kalamazoo College Baseball - now we’re finally coworkers! Zach was inevitably going to work in MLB because he's just that good, but it's extra cool that we get to do this thing together again because he's also a truly exceptional human.
