The leader of Cornwall Council, Linda Taylor, has reiterated that Cornwall must have a devolution deal based on our rights and status as a nation, and reconfirmed the Council will strongly reject any attempt to include Cornwall in a Devonwall or South West body.

There is a housing crisis all over the UK, but in Cornwall it’s different because we’re a national minority. Cornish forced out aren’t just leaving their home area, they’re leaving their nation. It cuts deeper, the trauma is greater. We must have devolution over housing policy.

What is the point of this “Great South West” APPG, if not to push for South West integration and regional bodies run from Exeter? Concerning from Jayne Kirkham MP for Truro & Falmouth Perran Moon MP 〓〓🌹 🇺🇦 Noah Law MP Anna Gelderd MP. As a national minority we have a right to our own devolution.

Steve Horscroft KernowCalling Cornwall is a Nation Perran Moon MP 〓〓🌹 🇺🇦 Noah Law MP Anna Gelderd MP I certainly do. Cornwall has its own special identity and National Minority Status which should be taken account of. Whoever runs the anonymous account on this thread obviously didn’t look at my website, my columns, my Social Media or much else I put out.

The only reason Cornwall will be treated differently and given our own devolution arrangement is our national minority status. In discussions with government it should be front and centre, not an embarrassed side note. Devolution is our right as a nation. bbc.com/news/articles/…

The BBC thinks the word “county” is neutral. However: - “County” status was imposed on our nation by others - The Cornish were not consulted or given a choice - The continued use of the word is a denial of our right to self-definition as a nation It’s not a neutral word.

Cornwall is a nation. Saying Cornwall should be run from Plymouth is like saying Wales should be run from Birmingham. We have a right to our own devolution, no matter our size or geography, because we are a nation. cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-…

All six Cornish MPs and the leaders of every major party on Cornwall Council have signed a letter to Angela Rayner. The letter calls for devolution to Cornwall based on our national status, without requiring a mayor or combining us with a part of England. mebyonkernow.org/news/mk-welcom…
