From the NY Times. Not surprising this is how the UK is viewed after 14 long years of suffering under the party that has stripped us of every we held dear. The party really is over.

Two very rich men, in a fireside chat, place a £1,000 sporting bet on whether one of them can effect a punishment on people desperately seeking refuge, within a mutually-agreed time.

A Dickensian tale?

No - it’s Britain in 2024.

And the men are Rishi Sunak & Piers Morgan.

My son Chris is running 12 marathons in 12 months to raise money for the charity CALM. 125 people in the UK commit suicide every week. 75% are men. Please support if you can. justgiving.com/page/chris-mos…

The UK Government is trying to pass new laws that would criminalise sleeping on the streets with a fine up to £2,500, or even prison.

So you get a knighthood these days for being a business owner who tells workers to get a job in a supermarket during covid so you don’t have to pay them. Best argument ever for scrapping the honours system in this country. Decent people reject honours.

It's a good job Michelle Mone isn't a black mother wrongly accused of dodging a £2 bus fare, or she'd certainly have been arrested by now

The continued criminalisation of homeless by this government shows not just their lack of concern but also how out of touch they are with the reality of this social problem - which no one seeks and which can happen to anyone.

Who said: 'I support the ECHR. I wouldn't support withdrawal. It's a sensible list of core freedoms'.
Answer: Dominic Raab, 2009.
You want human rights when you're not in power. When you're in power they're inconvenient because they stand in your way.
- Which is what they're for.

Here is Britain’s
new right - climate sceptical, immigration obsessed, anti human right, attacking elites. In US + Europe this has already become anti-LGBTQ and sympathetic to authoritarian states. When will conservatives finally say “not in my name”?!
