Our Mile Oak marvel, the long-staying Cirl Bunting, is the star of the latest SDOS contribution to Inside Southwick & Shoreham. 💛 What a stunning little bird and how lucky we are to have one on our patch! 🙏

Breathtaking footage of 25 common dolphins filmed by Kurt Lander on Saturday morning (September 14th) off #Brighton. The pod, which includes juveniles & calves, was dispersed over a wide area, but Kurt was able to film this stunning footage in clear, calm waters. #sussex

Hello Sussex Birding Worthing Birding and Wildlife spotted 3 fluffy looking Wheatear (I think) while walking on Lancing beach towards Widewater this afternoon. Photos taken from great distance - heard loud chirping before I saw them!

Tidying the garden? Please don't cut back the ivy. Around now in the UK, this native plant will be providing a vital late season pitstop for pollinating insects like bees, butterflies, hoverflies, moths. Then in winter, it will offer berries for the birds.

Those superstar Barn Owls at New Monks Park get even more attention in the latest edition of Inside Shoreham & Southwick. Thankfully they are still present and hopefully enjoying a little less attention and a little more peace and quiet these days!!

Up to 6 bottlenose dolphins were seen just outside Shoreham Harbour entrance on October 23rd by Julia Ravan. This sighing was filmed 30 minutes after the sighting shared earlier this week from James Stewart in the same area. Huge thanks to Julia for reporting this sighting. 👏

Going nice and cold tonight in Scandinavia, combined with an easterly airflow should clear out the remaining small passerines and mean some more Thrushes make the North Sea crossing
