Writing my own personal thoughts from an account named after an ancestor I created a film about - sometimes is weird.

Vultures. I think Weldon would say - Vultures.

Bernard, would simply say ' Weldon is the father 'God' wanted me to have". Weldon was his actual legal guardian though. Nard 'chose' his family. Brothers, Sisters and yes he chose his Mother and Father.

I cried all day today. I cried for a Black Angel named Nard. An angel baby who deserved more, and more and more - life. He will Live Long. Forever.

Bernard Wright played - JAZZ - FUNK - GOSPEL - SOUL - R&B and whatever the heck he wanted...He was an EXCEPTIONAL talent. A cut above the rest.

And here we are - just like the namesake of this page - the vanguards of the love Jazz produces are tasked with teaching the world his fcking name. And teaching the world that he was EXCEPTIONAL despite his rumored parents. Despite who sampled him.

Our relationship, like most of the elders in the film, did not stop at the interview. Most became Big Bros, Big Sisters, Mentors. Mutual adoration. Maybe even Adulation. I didn't know Weldon Irvine - but his friends and family became mine. So i hurt for them today them & me
