As someone whose family has been hit by this illness, I found Emmet Kennedy interview with Pat J Smullen compulsive listening. The man's bravery & resolve are inspirational. I wish him a speedy return to health & the saddle. 🤞Pancreatic Cancer UK Walking The Courses m.soundcloud.com/emmet-kennedy/…

After I completed Walking The Courses I wrote the story of the project: 82k words covering my father's love of the sport, his influence on me, what drove me to undertake the project & diary of the walk itself. Never got round to getting it published. Any interest in seeing excerpts?
There was never any doubt in my mind that Walking The Courses absolutely had to finish at Newmarket Racecourse on Craven Day. Here’s why......
My love of racing came from my late father, who adored the game. As this anecdote shows, he fostered a deep love of the sport from an early age & certainly wouldn’t let a minor illness get in the way! I include this and much more about him in my record of Walking The Courses. Enjoy!
Come on everyone, this is winnable for the mighty Clouds. He's closing the gap! Team Walking The Courses need to get behind their equine ambassador! Keep voting....💚💛☁️☁️☁️☁️
5 years ago I was walking for Racing Welfare. I'm asking you now to please help them again: demand for services has never been higher & fundraising events being cancelled. They desperately need your help. Read the link &, if you possibly can please help racingwelfare.co.uk/racing-welfare…
It’s time to start putting a few clues out there for my next venture to raise much needed money for Racing Welfare. 1. It will happen in April 2021, subject to social distancing being a thing of the past, God willing, by then. Next clue later today! Walking The Courses
It's time to level with you all on my latest project for Racing Welfare. In April next year I will leave CheltenhamRacecourse to walk, initially, to Lambourn. From there I will walk to Newmarket Racecourse, arriving for Craven Day, 5 years on from the conclusion of Walking The Courses 1/2
Absolutely anybody & everybody welcome to come along. I really want to involve as many people as possible. There will a large hole in Racing Welfare funding as a result of the current crisis & I am determined, with your help, to plug as much of it as I possibly can.
Given Covid crisis, I have no choice but to postpone this. Fear not, only temporarily! The plan is now to walk from Newmarket Racecourse to CheltenhamRacecourse leaving on morning after Future Champions Day, arriving on first day of Showcase meeting for Racing Welfare & Pancreatic Cancer UK.
For all you The Masters golf fans here's the details of the competition I am running in aid of Racing Welfare & Pancreatic Cancer UK. All you have to do is pick 4 players (see rules below) & pay entry fee of £20. You could win half the pot! DM me if you are interested.
Without Cole Harden winning the Stayers Hurdle at CheltenhamRacecourse on 2015, Walking The Courses would never have got one of the great WTC wristband photobombs of all time! Happy retirement wishes to a smashing horse Warren Greatrex @gavsheehan92 Scott Salkeld
