Behavioral or sensory? Our kids aren't always being "bad" or disobedient. The sensory system can often be the culprit. For help discerning between the 2...check out the sensory ✔️ list to see what behaviors fall under the sensory system buff.ly/3a1ZxWW #parenting

Kids are playing less and it is having a negative impact. Social skills, creativity, physical, cognitive, and emotional skills, sharing, negotiating, conflict resolution, etc. are all strengthened through play. The best part, PLAY IS FREE! buff.ly/3fa7Bau #parenting

We can become barriers to our children's development when we let our fear get in the way of them taking risks. Children need to move in ways that make us gasp. They need to: Swing "high as the sky" Climb that tree a little higher Look up and say "Look mom no hands!" #parenting

Me: "If you can't find something to do, I'll find something for you to do!" A NO to one thing, is a YES to another. A NO to screens is a YES to play, creativity, using the imagination, problem solving, etc. We have to be OK with disappointing our kids with a NO #parentingtips

Best parenting advice I ever listened to...keep a notebook of funny things your kids say & do. My notebooks aren't fancy but I write things down before bed and this year on vacation, I shared what was inside with my kids. Laughter and tears and great memories! #parenting

Music can help us rev up or calm down so we can focus on the task at hand. So, we can let our kids use that as a tool to help them focus. They key is to have them create a playlist that works for THEM (it may be opposite of what works for you) #parenting #homeschooling #ADHD

Learning and development can be compared to an iceberg There is the part we see (emotions, skills, and behaviors), but what we don't see is of huge importance. The sensory system lies beneath the surface and is where we often need to focus our attention #parenting

Deep breathing is one of the most effective tools our kids can use for self-calming yet many don't know how to take an effective deep breath. In fact, they can actually do more harm than good if they don't know the art of belly breathing. buff.ly/3jyPUny
