Still, I got today`s Wordle in 3 goes. Happened upon 2 letters in the right place in the first word plus another letter in the wrong place. Got the right place for that and another letter in in the second word, then it was down to a choice of 2 for the last letter.

Upgraded VS 2022 on another Win10 PC and my game code compiles OK. Looking more like a corruption of the SDK on my laptop. Ran CHKDSK. Didn`t say a lot. Uninstalled 2 latest SDKs. builds OK with older SDK. Upgraded VS, which installed new SDK. Now all compiles happily. "What?!"

Anyone else uninstalling the latest Win11 cumulative update? Seems to have a disk drive issue that it can destroy or corrupt SSDs. Or have I just been hoodwinked?

I have unboxed The One #BABYMETAL Metal Forth. The picture book is exquisite, the best photos yet of our trio. Unwrapped the First Edition from Japan too. Big jacket with all 5 covers to match. Each has a unique poster with lyrics on the back. Very happy to have all the covers.

I`ve either seen running across the carpet; one big spider twice, or worse. Haven`t managed to capture and eject it/them. Oh joy!

Reused my lightning bolts when the street lamps get hit. I`ve also fitted some meanies with tracks and let all the meanies leave footprints or track-prints. Got a P1 bug to sort out, only happens in release mode. Uninitialised variable somewhere, presumably in today`s code.

Looking through the childhood box of old games. Found this one. Box is a bit ragged, must have played a lot, until I got the big Deluxe version. Not sure where that is, but clearly I don't throw anything away.

Second item in the box is the little-used Dicer. The box looks very 50s in colour scheme, but is likely a 60s product. It 's just Subutteo substitute (see what I did there?) for a die or dice.

Thirdly out of the box is this German curio called Diamant. No date on the box nor documentation. Likely a 70s game. Designed by Andrea Steyn.

Seen the spider again. Or is it another one? This one`s a sprinter. Got him on his third lap of the living room. Captured and ejected from the building.

Generally, it`s safest to have identical code in Debug and Release versions, but you want as much optimisation and speed in the Release version as you can. So adding Debug checks is good while debugging as long as you actually look for those alert messages! I`m new at this...

Went through the Debug log to remove old messages of long-since fixed bugs. Found a couple more recent messages and fixed those. This will speed up the Debug version not logging as much, and gives me a warm feeling of progress.

Loaded my game onto another laptop and the security decided to quarantine my game executable. Claims it had a Trojan virus in there. Odd then that the laptop that built the executable yesterday is perfectly happy. Both have the same OS and anti-virus. Annoying!

One hour of free electricity this afternoon. Mulling over whether my hedge trimmers or my hi-fi offers better use of the hour. I expect the rain will decide.

Spent a number of hours today puzzling over the direction that my level crossing lights were facing. Couldn`t get all 4 directions correct at the same time. Turns out that the 2 systems I used to pass the direction were fighting each other. Eliminated one.

First attempt at an electricity pylon. Looks a bit like an origami construction, but that led me to think that I need a pagoda or two in the game.
