For #EYAAnimals, here’s some colourful editions of ‘The Cat and the Devil’, based off a letter James Joyce wrote to his grandson Stephen Joyce. The first is a 1965 copy, signed by Stephen, and the second is a 1967 Italian edition. [JR 30 CAT / CAT/ITA] #childrensbooks #joyce

Excellent interview with Dr Rachel Roberts on @timesradio today. Time to ditch the misleading idea that English doesn't lead to a good job: see universityenglish.ac.uk/englishcreates/ and British Academy reports. English doesn't just lead to one career, but to a huge choice of careers

This book may look unassuming, but this is a copy of the first English edition of James Joyce’s landmark work ‘Ulysses’. Today marks the date that Ulysses was first published, as well as Joyce’s birthday in 1882. [JR 30 ULY] #jamesjoyce #ulysses #onthisday
