Can you recognize this building? This 1935 drawing by Marjorie Garvin Sayers was donated to our collection, sparking a quick research project to I.D. the shop pictured. See tinyurl.com/cml-1935-direc… for one of our best finds and the address (upper left of the right-side page).

Who will win parade float awards this year? Build on, float creators, and we can't wait to see them roll down Northwest Boulevard! (Image - July 4th, 1966)

Inquiring minds want to know: Where is the EARLIEST parade award sign in our community? This is St. Agatha's long list on Northam Road. Who can beat this?

A shout out to reunion classes preparing to gather next week! What do you all have planned? Enjoy the company of your classmates, and hope to see you in the parade. (Image from 1982)

Hope this year’s floats are staying high and dry this morning—no spoilers before their big splashy debut on Friday! 💦 Here’s a throwback from 1972 that looks like it could actually float…

It's July 2, 1916 and Ohio's national guard troops are streaming into the fledging Upper Arlington to train for their mission at the Mexican border. Cleared fields, paved roads, and only a dozen or so homes meant lots of space for organizing and drilling.

Thanks to everyone we met at the UAHS Alumni Open House this afternoon. We enjoyed sharing UA memories, learning where you used to live and seeing you find people you know -- or yourself! -- in the old musical programs. Happy Fourth!

Welcome back, Lane Road Library! At 50 years old, this UA library got a much-deserved refresh to better serve our community. Stop in and soak in the new space (and the cool A/C on this very warm day).

As the City of UA reported, "Upper Arlington has been ranked the #1 Best Place to Live in the Columbus area for 2025 by Niche! ...Niche describes UA as a 'charming community with tree-lined streets, excellent schools, and friendly neighbors.'" Here is description in 1920:

This *gem* is from a special UA 50th supplement to the Tri-Village News in 1968. (1) Lane Avenue DID develop; so much for the wise counsel of the telephone company. (2) The old city hall in 1928 is what we know now as Miller Park Library.

Featured in USA Today! Our friends at Cover to Cover opened their 2116 Arlington Avenue shop in 2018 and have partnered with the Society for author talks, to sell our UA-nique keepsakes, and to create displays for our August Homes of History event. usatoday.com/story/entertai…

What a find! In the UA Police archives, we came across a 1930 telephone book, back when phone numbers looked like "RAndolph-5780!" The Society will loan this to the Columbus Metropolitan Library for digitizing, so everyone in Columbus can benefit from this *gem*.

Saw a back-to-school commercial on TV... here's a peak at the 1952-1953 UAHS handbook when our high school was in today's Jones Middle School. It was fall of 1956 that 10-12 grades moved to the now-demolished Ridgeview Road UAHS building.
