I'm okay with private investment in this program...but are the American taxpayers footing the $1,000 initial deposit by the government in these accounts?

Trump swipes money from taxpayers… to bail out the farmers… who were harmed by the tariffs… that Trump himself placed on American businesses and consumers. This is the Trump economy.

So for anyone interested, I was a Heritage fellow from 2001-2011 and saw the seeds of the mess starting in 2008. It's been long enough...I feel comfy telling the story: In 2008, with the economy and markets collapsing, my colleagues in the econ dept felt necessary to endorse

Texas GOP opponents of school vouchers argued for *decades* certain schools would be problems. Abbott bullied the Legislature into it anyway because a sugar daddy gave him $12 million. Now Abbott, Paxton, & Hancock are just making up the rules as they go after the fact

On his endorsement against Sid Miller, Abbott tells Davis, "This is nothing directly personal...other than the fact that [Miller's] been a disaster running the agency." "Laws that have passed #txlege have removed responsibilities from the agency bc leadership in the Capitol

That’s an odd way of saying “Rick Perry beat me in my petty personal vendetta.” The Tim Dunn cultists forget that that Dade WON that race despite their overwhelming efforts.

Our Republican governor and legislature just created a new entitlement and now they are taking a victory lap. Conservatism really is dead in this party.

Dan Crenshaw voted with Trump and the GOP 100% of the time yet lost his primary in part because those on the right thought he wasn’t conservative enough.

In articles about Texas politics, I keep seeing that Paxton is more "conservative" than Cornyn, and that Toth is more "conservative" than Crenshaw. I lament the corruption of this term. Conservatism does not equal, say, election denial. Burke 'n' the boys would be like, "WTF?"

Senator John Cornyn (@johncornyn) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I don’t hate anyone. I just can’t let a corrupt person like Attorney General Ken Paxton jeopardize a safe Republican Senate seat, be an anchor on down ballot races, divert resources from other Senate pickup opportunities, and jeopardize Donald J. Trump agenda in his last two years of his
