Very sad to see this but also completely understand. It's hard out here. I'm honoured to have had my work published by Lolwe, it's truly one of the best literary magazines out there that platform black voices! Please support in any way you can & keep our voices alive 🙏🏾

This makes me very sad. Very few publishers pay us young writers in Africa. It makes it extremely hard and inaccessible for low-resourced writers to publish and put work out. Please donate to Lolwe if you can and share their fundraiser....

I just emailed University of South Wales to ask why they will not consider applications from Palestine. There are active programs in other UK universities for Palestinians. In my view, it is pure discrimination by University of South Wales to have a policy to not accept applications from Palestine.

Tough times mean Lolwe can’t pay writers (for now), but their work remains necessary. Read Lolwe. Share Lolwe. Support Lolwe (if you can).

I hope people esp artists, who primarily benefit from them realize how hard it is to run these things. Don't just cry when they end or drag when there's issues. Support them & the other still existing ones. With your hype or positivity, when you can't with money

Nobody is going to come & save us or our institutions. We will raise them up, or perish with them, together. All of us, or none of us. That we haven't realized this by now. Singular achievement or progress won't do it. Only collective. & these are the vehicles we'll use. Anyway

For five years, Lolwe has stood out for work that is bold, different, and unafraid to push boundaries. For the writers behind it, financial support is key to sustaining this amazing work. Please, encourage them to keep writing. Read, share, and support. lolwe.org/donate/

It takes passion and love to run a lit magazine, especially from limited budgets. Troy and his team have been doing a fantastic job with every issue they publish. Whichever way, support Lolwe, read Lolwe.

Tough but necessary. Because nice things need money. 🕯💸 Praying for a windfall for one of the finest lit mags we have currently. 🕯💸
