The single-biggest thing companies can do to help the environment is to allow people to work from home. Eliminating even one day of commuting per week would make a massive difference. (the CEO can also stop flying a private jet but we're trying to be realistic)

IMPORTANT SCIENCE QUESTION. do bears get hairballs? Google won't give me a straight answer and I MUST know. #ScienceTwitter #Bears #scicommchat

Dr. Kiki Sanford Speaking For The Trees Podcast Without doing extensive research, my time picking up bear poop leads me to believe they mostly just poop hair out, and not much. I believe one of the reasons cats get hairballs over other animals is their comb-like tongue, which removes more hair, more quickly.

I can't believe we STILL have to remind people of this after A YEAR AND A HALF but: If your pet appears on the Zoom, you are REQUIRED to introduce it so the rest of us may address it by name

If you're in graduate school, med school, or law school: never stop speaking about how inhumane and unsupported by the science your workload is. Don't let them warp your mind into thinking you "turned out fine" if you happen to survive the abuse.

The “personal carbon footprint,” in which you are made to feel that climate change is your fault, was created by polluters. I’m all for everyone doing what they can, but don’t get it twisted. This emergency requires decisive government action.

I think we should start replacing 'underrepresented' in STEM with 'historically excluded'. Tell it like it really is. We weren't excluded by mistake. Nobody just lost us or missed our greatness. Systems were created intentionally, and I think we should acknowledge that history.

I feel like there's a correct way to promote your podcast that isn't "tell people about it on your personal account on twitch", but whatever
