Amongst all the (mostly valid) criticism on the playing side at times, it's also fair to acknowledge and appreciate things like this. Fair play #safc

Missed all the 1st half yesterday as was doing Dad duties watching the son play but absolutely brilliant stuff by Sunderland yesterday. Even injected a bit of positivity into me and my glass half empty tendencies - there you go! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Can understand fans being unhappy with the reported Clarke fee when taking into account the sell on (thought to be 25%). However, large sell on fees negotiated are part of the model and a reason they got a lot of their recent players cheaper then expected or even free. #safc

Funny how some accounts who bash others for moaning and being negative about things are happy to post this as being confrontational by Rusyn towards a new signing. #safc

Top and bottom of this situation is #safc had nothing in the pot with these owners in charge. They always wanted to sell Clarke. It's now time to see how 'the model' really works at Sunderland. We've taken what is probably thought to be a low bid for him. Let the games begin.

We'll see if it all goes through and at what price but I can't help looking at Summerville sold at ยฃ25.1m and Clarke at ยฃ15m. Can accept Summerville might have been slightly better but it was surely very close in terms of ability.

Clarkeโ€™s stats vs those of Asprilla on right seem to further confirm that #SAFC took an offer less than market value. Itโ€™s likely sale was required for โ€œsustainabilityโ€ approach to cover remaining transfer targets and SoL improvements. Disappointing? Yes. The model? Also yes.

Call me sceptical ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ but I'm not sure #safc will spend ยฃ5m or more on one player. History shows a more scattergun approach on multiple cheap(er) young prospects who will come in on very low wages. It'll be an interesting few days.

It is going to be very funny as we end another summer window where Sunderland are yet to permanently replace Charlie Wyke. This is our third season in the Championship. Appalling really, whatever the excuses.

The 2 MID lads look promising & we finally have a DM (for now). A lot is riding on the combo of Isidor, Mayenda and Rusyn being enough to score the goals and play well as strikers. That really does worry me tbh. Are we OK if Hume gets injured? #safc

Sunderland 3 wins from 3. Flying high. You'd think a genuine chance of promotion if they really pushed on using that Clarke money, etc. What have we genuinely got in? 2/3 decent loans and more development projects? I'm sure that money will come in handy sometime. #safc

Top article this. I fully agree with the comments made. We've made some good singings and exciting ones, but it's fair to say we are gambling fair bit in the striker department and ideally needed cover at RB. Also worth noting the amount of loans within those incomings.
