Wowza. Super impressive from Summer McIntosh. ‘Cruising’ McIntosh obliterates Titmus’ 400m freestyle world record smh.com.au/sport/swimming…

CANADIAN RECORD🇨🇦SUMMER MCINTOSH 8:05.07 It’s the third fastest 800m freestyle in history. Katie Ledecky’s world record remains. What a race. Wow.

Tom Decent (@tomdecent) 's Twitter Profile Photo

McIntosh under world record pace in 800 free for a fair bit of that final but just misses Ledecky's record. Clocks 8:05.07. Ledecky's WR is 8:04.12.

Sammy Short rips a 3:43.21 in heats in the 400 free. His fastest time this year. Looked very good. For context, he went 3:42.44 in heats at 2023 worlds and clocked 3:40.68 that night to win gold. Should be a cracking race vs Winnington tonight on Wide World of Sports

Breaking: Major shock on first morning of Aus trials as Kaylee McKeown disqualified after heat of the 50m backstroke. World record holder in the event. She looked shattered. smh.com.au/sport/swimming…

‘I’m not going to slam swimmers’: Kyle Chalmers’ surprising response to Magnussen’s Enhanced Games quest smh.com.au/sport/swimming…

Kaylee McKeown has been reinstated to the 50m back final tonight (10.27pm AEST). Protest upheld. Little bit of drama for the morning!

Tom Decent (@tomdecent) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Am told the official line will be that it was deemed McKeown was distracted by something as she was about to take off from the blocks. Don't see that every day 👀

Tom Decent (@tomdecent) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Confirmed by Swimming Aus: "McKeown, the world record holder, was DQ'd after being ruled to initiate an early start from lane four of heat one but her protest was upheld after officials ruled in her favour that she was distracted by a movement immediately prior to the signal."

Why Cam McEvoy is no guarantee to race at the world champs this year. He also could have a lighter 2026. smh.com.au/sport/swimming…

Titmus on Wide World of Sports when asked about McIntosh taking her 400 free world record. "Obviously it stings a little bit when you get your world record broken but I know how tough it is to swim that fast."

Tom Decent (@tomdecent) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Boom. Lani Pallister in the sub four club, going 3:59.72 to take out women's 400m free. Being cheered on by her new coach Dean Boxall, with Ariarne Titmus only a few metres away on comms for Nine.

Short gets the win over Winnington in the 400 free. Some statement that after his Paris disappointment. Out hard and hung on. 3:41.03 to 3:43.99.

What a joy seeing 16yo Sienna Toohey make her first Aussie swim team last night. Completely overwhelmed with emotion. Star of the future. smh.com.au/sport/swimming…
