On the latest episode, I talk with Stephen Barber about 'A Sinister Assassin' (Infinity Land Press), Artaud’s last writings, the “body without organs,” and his fight with Christ, psychiatry, and sex itself. Dropping a bit later today.

I’ll never grow tired of beating the drum for El Pampero Cine. PIN DE FARTIE—“not an adaptation, but an anagram” of Beckett’s Endgame—was a Venice standout; for Notebook, I spoke with Alejo Moguillansky ahead of the film’s New York Film Festival premiere: mubi.com/en/notebook/po…

They get you when you sleep. But you can only stay awake so long. Where are you gonna go? Where are you going to run? Where are you going to hide? Nowhere... because there's no one...like you...left.

What a great episode. It prompted me to try translating the term into Polish (I don't think it exists in everyday speech). 'Uduszyć kogoś' sounds appealing - it combines ghost, soul, and strangulation. To strangle someone's soul with one's absence or something like that...

Last weekend, at the National Centre for Film Culture, we organized special screenings of Bollywood hits to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of DDLJ. There were panel discussions, lectures, food tastings, music. At the end, we took a photo posing like Shah Rukh Khan.
