So lovely to see the 117 year-old pine parquet flooring in Maryhill Library, hidden under carpets for years, now beautifully restored by local contractor Natural Floors UK ahead of the reopening on Monday. Turns out our historic Carnegie library was worth 'gussying up' after all!

Question I'd like all potential Conservative leaders to answer (RT if agree) The energy price cap's predicted to rise 64% in Oct taking a typical bill to £3,244/yr; & rise again in Jan to £500/yr more than when May's help package was announced. What'll u do to avoid this & when?

The judge should have only told Rebekah Vardy, and no-one else, the verdict last night and sat back to see what happened. #wagathachristie

As a historian of the first Elizabethan Age, I am overwhelmed to be in London at this historical moment. 16th-century Elizabethans would have looked for signs. This double rainbow appeared over Buckingham Palace just moments before the Queen's death was announced. 📷: Reuters

It’s 50 years tomorrow since Aberdeen Arts Centre was the venue for the first production of John McGrath’s “The Cheviot, The Stag and the Black Black Oil”. Not many plays earn mythic status, but this work’s message is just as relevant as in 1973! youtu.be/BwWzRK0tefQ

Saw This is Memorial Device last night at Riverside Studio. It is set in Airdrie. The opening shot on the projector features The Capocci Man. My excitement was palpable. In other news, I’ve been craving ice cream today. (Show was good, fab set, great performance)

A remarkable photograph capturing the first two minutes of silence in London, exactly 105 years ago. In those moments, the immense burden of personal grief and mourning would have been amplified beyond comprehension. #LestWeForget

#OnThisDay 1746 A selection of men from the Irish Brigade of France & Fitzjames's Horse fought at the Battle of Culloden. They fought for Bonnie Prince Charles but were defeated. They covered the Highlanders's retreat & lost a lot of men in the fight. #Ireland #History
