As it turns out, powershell over ssh isn't a great experience. I spin up a VM on GCP and then just pipe a powershell script into ssh.

Been playing around with using clang-cl to build the Windows versions on linux. After a patch to steamworks and building luajit using real msvc it actually worked. My attempts at getting luajit to cross-build have failed with runtime crashes so far. #rustlang #gamedev #indiedev

Got the 64 bit Windows version building on the CI now and working with the release system. Don't think I'm going to bother with the 32 bit version as I don't think anyone actually uses it? It may be worth dropping both the Linux and Windows 32 bit versions within a release or two

After some interesting issues I managed to get my rust quake map viewer converted over to use gfx-hal (only tested with vulkan currently). Think I kinda have the hang of the basics now, kinda fun to figure it all out. github.com/Thinkofname/ru… #rustlang #gamedev

Sometimes I wonder if I should give in and start using a game engine like Godot instead of writing my own all the time. I feel like I end up fighting the engine whenever I try and use one though.

My main issue with them originally was finding bugs and not being able to fix them but Godot is open source which kinda solves that issue.
