The SBCSS CalFresh Healthy Living team attended the Growing Schools Garden conf. to be more informed and invigorated on the school garden movement across the country. We are excited and motivated to expand this movement throughout the San Bernardino County districts. We can help!

Baker Family Learning Center in Muscoy, is promoting healthy eating by exposing their preschoolers to fresh fruits and veggies. Children are learning where food comes from and are encouraged to try new foods, which leads to appreciating nutritious foods for a healthy diet.

Supporting the SBCSS State Preschool Program by providing the Coordinator Approach to Child's Health (CATCH) curriculum and the MyPlate material to teachers at their teacher in-service training. Making sure they're fully prepared for the upcoming school year. Reach out for info!

The preschool children and I completed a small school garden at EJ Marshall State Preschool. The children learned about fruits and veggies, how to care for plants, and working together for a common goal. We had fun playing in the soil and working in the nice warm sun 🌞
