Our Catapleura turtle dressed up as a dolphin this year- oceanic mammals are hilariously scary to most of our fossilized reptiles, who knew proto-mammals only as land critters 😅 #HappyHalloween

Was a pleasure to be the guest on this week’s Deviate podcast. We discuss the pitfalls of common sense, the role of contingency in Earth history, how to find a dinosaur, and of course #WhyDinosaursMatter TED Books @EdelmanFossilPK Rowan University Simon & Schuster

A Cretaceous Halloween story. An Earth era ago a tyrannosaur died on the east coast of North America. Swept out beyond the surf, its body was colonized by a multitude of flesh eating bacteria, which churned through its tissues, filling its decaying carcass with gas.

Happy #NationalDinosaurDay from Edelman Fossil Park & Museum! Did you know the first-ever Tyrannosaur discovered, the Dryptosaurus, was found in southern New Jersey in 1866, just a mile from our Fossil Park? 🦖

To celebrate #NationalGardenWeek, we want to highlight some of the native plants that fill our Cretaceous Garden at EFM. All the plants in our Cretaceous Garden have an ancestor that was native to this area 66 million years ago!

Our fossil bed has yielded more than 100,000 fossils representing over 100 species of marine and land animals. Our quarry dig allows visitors to get their hands dirty and find fossils themselves. We look forward to welcoming you in the museum and our quarry later this year. 🦖

Happy #SharkWeek from EFM! 🦈 Did you know we find ancient shark teeth in our quarry? Discover why we never find the rest of the shark skeletons as we study these fossils to learn about past shark species in New Jersey's Cretaceous waters. #edelmanfossilparkmuseum #newjersey

Happy Birthday, Dread! 🎉🦕 10 years ago today, Dr. Kenneth Lacovara uncovered his most epic paleontological discovery Dreadnoughtus schrani in Patagonia, Argentina. Name meaning, “fears nothing”, this titanosaurian sauropod is estimated to have been roughly 85 feet long!
