Crossbills don’t really breed year round in North America, but they do breed in two main cycles, 1) July-September utilizing newly developed cone crops, and 2) January-April utilizing the last remaining cone crops.

An unfolding finch story! Yesterday’s Tadoussac Quebec White-winged Crossbill migration record has already been broken and more than doubled this morning. They’re at 17,188 White-winged Crossbills already for morning. Will the provincial record of almost 35k be broken today?
