Next time industry leaders and programmers want to say to me that the reason they don’t program shows by South Asian and Muslim artists is because “The shows don’t sell and people don’t come to see them” I’m going to point at this. Audiences have been starved.

If all that is offered is only what is known; only what is known will be all that is offered. Proud of Sameena Hussain & Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan for proving that more than what is currently routinely offered needs to be sought out for those audiences currently starved of representation.

This makes my blood boil. Medo was always so deliberate about naming Israel as the perpetrator in his videos and holding them responsible for the genocide he was forced to live through. What a desecration of his memory. May the editor who wrote this headline never know peace.

The last show of Peanut Butter & Blueberries was last night; I never anticipated my debut play at Kiln Theatre would be a sell out; all I & Sameena Hussain agreed months back was to make a show true to Hafsas & Bilals of the world & in which Islam was loved & respected. Alhamdulilah.

Had the joy of seeing this yesterday, the last day of showing. Such beautiful and moving storytelling - I don't think I've seen or heard of characters that I could relate to like this before 🥹 mabrook Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan may Allah continue to bless your pen!

Absolutely loved this show. Turns out theatre 🎭 is also for people like us too, imagine the pathways paved for future creatives 🤩
