Exceptional numbers of Common Gulls in Cork Harbour at the moment: 719 in Saleen-Whitegate on the I-WeBS count and over 1000 at the pre-roost gathering in Lough Beg in the evening Lough Beg Reserve
Today is the deadline for submissions for the next issue of Irish Birds. But if you haven't quite made it but are nearly there, please contact the editor and we will do our best to accommodate you. BirdWatch Ireland
Only 66 Sandwich Terns at the Lough Beg roost this evening, compared to typical autumn peaks at this time of 400 - 1000 birds. The downward trend that started in 2022 has continued and they seem to have almost disappeared from Cork Harbour this autumn Lough Beg Reserve BirdWatch Ireland
We are starting another season of Cork Harbour I-WeBS counts this weekend. While we have a team of regular counters we are always looking for additional volunteers to help out. Please contact me if you are interested. BirdWatch Ireland National Parks and Wildlife Service
