We are starting with Legal Literacy Classes for children in collaboration with RGNUL Legal Aid Clinic under their 'Project Kaksha'. We recognize that access to good quality school education is a rarity in rural India, which further puts children at a disadvantage in terms of Legal literacy.

We remember #KamlaBhasin known fondly as Kamla Di today by Reading aloud her book 'Lal Pari' with our reader members. "A father asks his daughter: Study? For my dreams to take flight, I must study. For the battles I must fight, I must study. Because I am a girl, I must study."

Children are wizards of our magic bond family here at Bansa Community Library. In awe of celebrating Children's Day & our little wizards, we at Bansa catered to a spellbound evening packed with fun. The aim was to let their imagination run loose. Packed with games and activities.

We recently held a inclusive meet with members of Student Leadership Council about various aspects. A democratic spirit was strongly felt as they were made to understand the impact of their ideas & how it will be a library that runs on collective decisions of its young readers.

FLN is born out of the isolation we experience as library practitioners who are unsupported by institutions, be it the state or private & public agencies, practicing in a paucity of resources, curriculum or solidarity. Just 2 years old, we are now over 85 members strong.

We are so so PROUD to be a part of The Free Libraries Network along side The Community Library Project Cheruia Public Library @GraminLibrary Gram Sudhar Pustkalaya & other 80 such community libraries & organizations. This network is all about empowerment & #FreeLibraryMovement.

This was a very important meeting as we started going to school now. There is a sharp decline in the number of members visiting the Library on weekdays. We discussed the plan on how to bring them back to the Library and to organize more activities for children members. - Devanshi

Remember our first issuer Mr Mahendra? Here you can see him returning the five books he issues for the week and borrowing five more; which is now a Sunday ritual! Mahendra Ji has been very vocal about his love for books and developed a relationship with BCL! #FreeLibraryForAll

We organized 3rd General Knowledge Quiz Competition Gram Sudhar Pustkalaya campus, 41 students took part in this from three groups. Result will be declared on Sunday 04:30 PM at Bansa Library campus. We have cash prizes for the winners this time. #FreeLibrary #RuralLibraryMovement

Reading Aloud Session!! As the mercury drops across North India, the Library seeks warmth by reading together while waiting for the winter sun. Aside from the sheer joy of exercising the imagination, #ReadingForPleasure improves literacy, social skills, and learning outcomes.
