A2: Agility would be at the top of my list. The world is ever changing and businesses are having to adjust and adapt to keep up and remain relevant. Our Ss can practice this through PBLs and experimenting with different solutions. #CravenEdChat

A3: I once saw a meme that said, “I don’t know how to pay my taxes but I can find the area of a parallelogram!” It is so critical to make real-world connections to the learning that takes place in the classroom. Relevance is key! #CravenEdChat

Hi, #CravenEdChat! I’m Kaitlyn Watson, principal of GCF Grizzlies and looking forward to tonight’s discussion. My favorite thing about fall is football!

A1: Making sure our students have “skin in the game” and are involved in their pathways to learning. #CravenEdChat

A2: Gathering student feedback is an authentic way to implement student voice into instruction. “What worked for your learning today?” #CravenEdChat

A1: Ss have to first understand the learning requirements to truly engage with them. Post/share with Ss and refer to them frequently. Ask ?s like “where does this learning target fit in our learning requirements?” to help them make connections to the big picture. #CravenEdChat

A2: Giving opportunities for Ss to have ownership in their school- student council, morning announcements, office/media helpers- as well as in their learning- plus/deltas, data tracking, choice boards. #CravenEdChat

A3: Student council reps meet regularly to provide feedback and make decisions. Just recently they were able to choose our Spirit Week days. Shout out to Ms. Hall, school counselor, for her work with SC! #CravenEdChat

A4: We model this process in our classrooms, SIT and goal team mtgs, PLCs, and even with our parents when feedback is shared- keeping the focus on growth and improvement in all areas.#CravenEdChat

Doing a school visit that includes classroom walk-thrus, PLCs, student interactions, student rewards, PDSA and curriculum implementation observations makes for a good day! Thanks Kaitlyn Lee Watson & GCF Grizzlies for the welcoming environment and dialogue.
