🅰️ Zoneless @Angular is a big deal and I'm 100% here for it. But why? Time for a love letter to Signals. Zone.js tries to help trigger change detection by patching all sorts of async APIs and events. setTimeout, setInterval, rAF, xhr, you name it. But the patching isn't always

Over 3 years ago I sketched github.com/angular/angula… as a proof of concept of components w/o NgModules. Many discussions followed, and the feature today is so much better than my initial prototype. Now we're going all in, and making standalone the default: blog.angular.dev/the-future-is-…

In other Angular news, the experimental `afterRenderEffect` API landed today! This API lets you structure your direct DOM operations as reactive effects that Angular can optimize - and it's compatible with any future DOM-emulation-free SSR!

I once heard if you had to repeat something 3 times you should write an article. So clearly this article is overdue. "Web Components Are Not the Future" by Ryan Carniato #WebDevelopment #webcomponents #DEVCommunity dev.to/ryansolid/web-…

📣 Language service & schematics integration In v19, you'll be able to modernize your code directly from your favorite IDE/text editor. We shipped refactoring schematics for inputs, outputs, and queries and integrated them with the language service 🔥

Last year 🦋 Alex Rickabaugh and myself outlined lots of principles and main directions driving evolution of Angular. This year we are coming back with Mark Techson 🎄 to build on this narrative and paint a clearer picture of the Angular for the next 10 years. The story continues!

So grateful to be part of the JS community where fwks authors are so considerate. Very well put, thank you Dev Agrawal. The truth is that we all see _parts_ of the use-cases and possible solution. With time we do see and understand more. And evolve learning from each other.

I went to the first NgGlühwein last year on a whim, and had a fantastic time with a great group of Angular developers. Very excited to be returning for this year's iteration!

Tired of folks seeing this and thinking React. Or the backlash against Composition API, or Svelte Runes. Signals pre-date Hooks by almost a decade. Even function components pre-date React if you look at Knockout. The recent trend is the opposite of everyone copying React.
