I know my community is hurting from the fact that we will all be impacted by school consolidations. I also think Joel Newton is right. It hurts more now because we are 20 years overdue.

I got into education research 20 years ago because it was the first job I got. I stayed because I started mentoring and realized how much American ingenuity and talent our education system was leaving behind. This kind of hard policy can change the system.
