Very sorry to hear of the passing of Rev. Dr. James Netters, a giant in Memphis as a religious, elected and civic leader. He was instrumental on the 1st city council in 1968. I always enjoyed listening to his sermons at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, or simply visiting with him.

Thankful for bipartisan infrastructure deal, which will help with roads/bridges, public transportation (Memphis Area Transit Authority) and water/ power infrastructure (MLGW). As President Donald J. Trump said “There’s nothing our nation can’t do when we decide to do it together, do it as one nation.”

The deal also provides for broadband infrastructure because too many places have no access to high-speed internet. Connecting internet to all our neighborhoods is as important today to quality of life and job creation as was connecting electricity 100 years ago.
