Busy CREST Silver Club: an improved recipe for 'whitening toothpaste' using a finer particle size, as it was too abrasive - this time vanilla flavour. We also made lipgloss & coffee toothpaste. We tested the shampoos for pH & effectiveness. #AspiretobeMore #STEM STMCA

Another good CREST Bronze session: Lavender soap, strawberry & mint lip gloss and strawberry, mango & cherry bathbombs, using a really good recipe. The students are now experts at moulding them! STMCA #STEM #AspiretobeMore

Brilliant final lab session with CREST Bronze: we made the foamiest bathbomb and worked out how to emulsify the honey in the lip balm, and the beetroot in the lipgloss. STMCA #STEM #Aspiretobemore

In our final CREST Silver lab session we successfully made some low pH solid shampoos, by adding lactic acid or citric acid. We also made a toothpaste with similar effectiveness, & lipsticks, lipglosses & lipbalms with similar flow to manufactured varieties STMCA #STEM

Beautiful weather for a Science Field Trip to Talacre Beach, investigating sand pH, height variation of marron grass and diversity of plant species. The students identified quite a few including sea holly and large-flowered evening-primrose STMCA
